About Discord Bots

Most Minecraft communities live on Discord, so many servers connect the two. The common jobs are verifying that a Discord member owns a Minecraft account, keeping the whitelist in step with Discord roles, and relaying chat so players on either side can talk.

Some of these tools are a standalone bot you host; others are a plugin or mod that includes the bot. The distinction matters for setup: a plugin runs on your Minecraft server and needs a bot token you create in Discord's developer portal, while a hosted service handles the bot for you in exchange for trusting it with your server's events.

Check which Minecraft platform each one supports. Several of the best-known ones are mods for Fabric or Forge rather than plugins for Paper, and the two are not interchangeable. Keep bot tokens private and give the bot only the Discord permissions it needs.

Frequently asked questions

Where do I get a bot token? From Discord's developer portal, when you create an application and add a bot to it. Treat the token like a password and never paste it into a public config.

Each page lists three clearly separated parts: Featured Resources (paid placements), Trending Now (recent engagement) and Resources (approved by review, newest first). Approval means a resource met MCRank’s listing requirements; it is not an endorsement.

MCRank is Minecraft resource search and discovery. Featured placement is its paid visibility layer: owners of approved resources bid weekly to appear first, labeled Featured, on the page their resource belongs to. Payment buys placement, not guaranteed clicks, traffic or sales, and never an MCRank endorsement.

Paid Featured placement is not available at the moment.
