Advertising Policy
Last updated 14 October 2026
Featured placement is MCRank's paid visibility. A creator bids for it for one approved resource on the one MCRank page that resource belongs to. This policy sets out what is and is not being bought.
Paid Featured placement is currently unavailable: no one can buy a placement yet and no payment is being taken. This page describes how it will work when it opens.
01
What Featured is
A Featured resource appears first on its page, with a Featured badge next to its name. The Featured entry is the resource's own approved listing and nothing else: there is no separate advertisement, copy or destination.
For people and machines that read a page's code: links to Featured resources are marked rel="sponsored", the standard marker for a paid link, and the Featured section and its cards are marked as a paid placement. Featured is the name shown to visitors for what earlier versions of this policy and of the site called Sponsored.
Featured means paid. It is never presented as best, recommended, highest quality or safest. Because Featured resources are ordered by what was paid (see below), their order is a purchase order and never a quality ranking.
02
What it does not promise
Payment buys visibility on the page. It does not guarantee clicks, traffic, engagement or sales, and it is not an endorsement by MCRank.
03
Who can buy it
Only the owner of an approved resource, from their own account, and only after accepting this policy. Payment never skips review: every resource is checked before it is public, whether Featured or not.
04
When it is delivered
A Featured placement is shown only while all of these are true. If any stops being true, it stops being shown straight away.
- The resource is approved and public.
- Ownership of its current destination is verified.
- Its destination was checked recently and was reachable.
- Its primary page is still the one the placement was bought for.
- The campaign is active and a paid weekly bid of at least the minimum has been confirmed for the current week.
- MCRank has not placed a hold on it.
- This policy has been accepted.
05
Weekly bidding
Featured placement is won by a weekly bid. A week runs from Monday 00:00 UTC to the next Monday 00:00 UTC. When a new week starts, every bid starts again at $0: nothing carries over, and a resource that wants to be Featured again bids again.
A bid is an amount in whole US dollars, at least $2. It counts only once PayPal has confirmed the payment; a number typed in a form, an unfinished payment or a cancelled one is not a bid. A bid can be raised during the week and never lowered, and raising it charges only the difference between the new total and what has already been paid. Bidding closes a short time before the week ends, so a payment cannot arrive after the week it was meant for.
Payment is in US dollars through PayPal.
06
Order among Featured resources
There is no fixed limit on how many resources can be Featured on a page. They are shown in order of the amount paid this week: the highest paid bid first. If two bids are equal, the one that reached that amount first is shown first. Only resources that meet every delivery condition above are ranked, so if the highest bidder stops being eligible, the next one moves up.
MCRank does not set, change or adjust the order by hand. The only things MCRank does to a placement are to stop it, with a recorded reason, when the rules require it.
07
Being outbid
If another resource bids more, yours moves down the Featured order. That is part of how the weekly bidding works: being outbid does not entitle you to a refund or a credit, and you keep your place for the rest of the week for as long as your resource stays eligible.
08
What you may advertise
Only resources that meet the Content Policy. MCRank may stop or refuse a placement that does not.
09
Payments and refunds
Payments are taken through PayPal by Asbiha Enterprises. Refund terms are on the Refund Policy page.
