About Discord Verification Bots

A Discord verification bot links a member's Discord account to their Minecraft account. Servers use it to keep unverified accounts off the whitelist, to give verified players a role in Discord, and to tie in-game moderation and Discord moderation to the same person.

The usual flow: the player asks the bot for a one-time code, enters it in Minecraft or in Discord, and the bot records the pair. From then on the bot can grant a role, allow the player to join, or remove access if the link is broken.

What to look for in a verification bot Edition support: confirm it handles the Minecraft accounts your players use (Java, Bedrock or both) and works with your server software.

Role sync: check which Discord roles it can assign and remove, and whether it keeps them in step when a player's status changes.

Data handling: the bot stores account links. Check what it stores, where, and how a player can be unlinked.

Name changes and re-linking: players change names and lose accounts, so look at how the bot handles both.

Hosting: some bots run on the creator's infrastructure and some you host yourself, which affects cost, control and privacy.

Frequently asked questions

Does verification keep banned players out? It adds a hurdle, because a player needs a linked Discord account, but it is not an identity check. Determined players can create new accounts, so it works best alongside your other moderation tools.

Should a verification bot ever ask for a Minecraft password? No. Linking normally uses a one-time code. If a bot asks for a Minecraft account password, do not use it.

Does MCRank recommend a particular bot? No. MCRank is a Minecraft resource search and discovery site. Featured is paid visibility and is always labeled, Trending Now reflects recent engagement, and approval only means a resource passed MCRank's listing requirements. None of them is an MCRank recommendation.

MCRank is Minecraft resource search and discovery. Featured placement is its paid visibility layer: creators pay to appear first, labeled Featured, on the page their resource belongs to and in searches that resolve to it. Payment buys placement, not guaranteed clicks, traffic or sales, and never an MCRank endorsement. It is bought by the owner of an approved resource, from their account.

Paid Featured placement is not available at the moment.
