About Survival Server Setups

Survival is the original way to play: gather resources, build, and live with the consequences. A survival server setup takes that and adds the structure a community needs, usually land claims so builds are safe, an economy so players can trade, ranks or jobs for progression, and moderation tools so staff can keep the peace.

A packaged setup saves the long job of choosing plugins, making them agree with each other and tuning them. What it cannot do is decide your rules for you. How much hardship you want, whether players may raid one another, how strong the economy should be and what ranks cost are choices your community lives with, so read the defaults before you open the server.

What to look for in a survival setup Server software and version: confirm the setup names your platform (for example Paper or Purpur) and your Minecraft version. Compatibility is what the creator declares, so try it on a test copy first.

What is bundled: list the plugins it includes and check that each is maintained. A setup is only as current as its oldest plugin.

Economy and claims: check how currency is earned and spent, how claims are sized, and whether you can change both without editing many files.

Performance: a setup that adds many plugins costs server resources. Look for guidance on the player counts it was tuned for.

Licence and support: find out whether you may use it on several servers, what updates are included, and how the creator handles questions.

Frequently asked questions

Is a survival setup the same as a modpack? No. A modpack bundles client mods that every player installs. A setup here is server-side: it runs on the machine hosting the game, and players join with an ordinary client unless the listing says otherwise.

Can I add my own plugins to a packaged setup? Usually yes, but test the combination. Two plugins that both manage the same thing, such as chat or protection, can conflict.

Does MCRank recommend a particular one? No. MCRank is a Minecraft resource search and discovery site. Featured is paid visibility and is always labeled, Trending Now reflects recent engagement, and approval only means a resource passed MCRank's listing requirements. None of them is an MCRank recommendation.

MCRank is Minecraft resource search and discovery. Featured placement is its paid visibility layer: creators pay to appear first, labeled Featured, on the page their resource belongs to and in searches that resolve to it. Payment buys placement, not guaranteed clicks, traffic or sales, and never an MCRank endorsement. It is bought by the owner of an approved resource, from their account.

Paid Featured placement is not available at the moment.
