Web maps render your world into tiles or 3D models and serve them through a small web server. Players use them to find each other and to see builds, and server owners use them to show off a world to people who have not joined.
Dynmap is the long-standing option: a Google-Maps-style 2D view with optional surface, cave and flat renderings, and markers for homes and regions. It runs on several platforms and has its own integrated web server.
BlueMap renders a 3D model of the world that you can rotate and zoom in the browser. It is generated by the server and is known for its detailed look; its documentation covers deployment behind your own web server.
Both use CPU and disk to render and update maps, and a large world takes a long time on the first render. Plan for that, set a render area, and consider running the renderer outside peak hours.
Think about privacy before you publish. A live map can show where players are and where their bases are. Hide or delay player positions on a survival server where location matters, or restrict the map to your players.
Does a live map slow the server? Rendering uses CPU and disk, mostly when chunks change. Limit the area and schedule heavy renders for quiet hours.
Can I hide where players are? Both maps let you control whether and how player markers show. Check each one's configuration documentation.
MCRank is Minecraft resource search and discovery. Featured placement is its paid visibility layer: creators pay to appear first, labeled Featured, on the page their resource belongs to and in searches that resolve to it. Payment buys placement, not guaranteed clicks, traffic or sales, and never an MCRank endorsement. It is bought by the owner of an approved resource, from their account.
Paid Featured placement is not available at the moment.
