About Arena Builds

An arena is the map a match is played on. Unlike a spawn or a lobby, which players pass through, an arena is built around rules: where the teams start, where the fighting happens, how large the play area is and what keeps players inside it. Arena builds are sold as a finished map in a file you paste into your server, most often a WorldEdit or FAWE schematic and sometimes a full world folder.

Match the arena to the game mode. A map for FFA or KitPvP needs open fighting space and several ways in. A KOTH or Domination arena needs capture points that players can reach and defend. Team minigames such as BedWars, WoolWars, SheepWars or Pillars need fair, symmetrical bases and a balanced centre. A good listing says which game mode the arena was made for, how many arenas the pack holds and how large each one is in blocks.

Check the technical details before you choose. Look at the Minecraft versions: many creators build on one version and convert the schematic for older and newer ones, and the listing should say which. Check the file format, such as .schem or .schematic, the dimensions, and whether the pack holds only the build or also a lobby, spawn points or plugin configuration. Check what licence comes with the map before you edit or redistribute it.

An arena is only a map. You still need a plugin or a setup to run the match, so look for the game mode named on the listing and make sure you have what it needs.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add an arena build to my server? Most arenas are schematics. Copy the file into your WorldEdit or FAWE schematics folder, load it with the schematic command and paste it where you want the arena. Listings usually include the steps for your version.

Will an arena work on my Minecraft version? Listings state the version a map was built on and the versions it was converted for. Choose the schematic that matches your server version.

Does an arena include the game itself? No. It is the map. You need a plugin or setup for the game mode, such as BedWars, WoolWars, TNT Tag or a PvP plugin.

Does MCRank recommend a particular one? No. MCRank is a Minecraft resource search and discovery site. Featured is paid visibility and is always labeled, Trending Now reflects recent engagement, and approval only means a resource passed MCRank's listing requirements. None of them is an MCRank recommendation.

MCRank is Minecraft resource search and discovery. Featured placement is its paid visibility layer: creators pay to appear first, labeled Featured, on the page their resource belongs to and in searches that resolve to it. Payment buys placement, not guaranteed clicks, traffic or sales, and never an MCRank endorsement. It is bought by the owner of an approved resource, from their account.

Paid Featured placement is not available at the moment.
